A few steps need to be taken to set up the connection before RoomRaccoon can map and connect to your Booking.com account.
Setting up the rates in RoomRaccoon
RoomRaccoon works with occupancy-based pricing, meaning we would need a rate for each occupancy. We always advise you to use the derived rates to make your life easier.
What are derived rates?
Derived rates modify an existing rate (the base rate). For example, including breakfast would increase the rate. See the examples below to fix your rate plans:
How it should look like:
How it shouldn't look like:
In this case, we recommend creating a rate plan for all the OTA channels or only for Booking.com and then using the derived rates for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or any other guest numbers you have.
If you do not put a price, the derived rate will be the same amount as the rate plan you derive it from. (In the examples above, 1 guest is the base rate, and 2nd, 3rd, or 4th guest rates are derived, with the 2nd guest being the same price, and 3rd being 25$ more expensive, and the 4th being 50$ more expensive than the 1 guest rate plan)
If you do not do this step, we will revert to you to fix your structure for everything to be set up properly.
Read the following article to learn how to structure your rates.
Adding existing reservations into RoomRaccoon
With Booking.com reservations, it is straightforward. We are importing all your future reservations automatically. You do not and should not import(through the sheet with your implementation manager) or create any reservations from Booking.com. If you do, you must remove all the manual reservations yourself and assign the Booking.com reservations we add.
Why are we doing this? Because once we import them for you, any modification that comes through from Booking.com for any of these reservations will automatically reflect in RoomRaccoon, and with manual ones, it will not.
RoomRaccoon is not liable for anything that happens during this process as this is something that the client should be aware of.
