RoomRaccoon allows you to manage add-ons flexibly—either including them in your rate as part of a package or excluding them so they appear as separate charges on invoices. You can also apply mandatory fees like cleaning costs to both your Booking Engine and connected OTAs.
Including Add-Ons in the Price
To include add-ons in a rate:
Go to My Property.
Open an existing rate type or create a new one.
In the Package dropdown, select “Add-ons included in price”.
Choose the add-ons to include.
Decide how they should be displayed on the invoice:
Show all add-ons on invoices: Lists each add-on separately.
Show add-ons as an arrangement: Groups by VAT for clarity.
Consolidate package deals: Shows only the total room rate (no itemisation).
Click Save to apply.
Creating a Package Deal
To create an all-in-one package (e.g., a wellness or dining offer):
Go to My Property > Room Category.
Select + New Rate.
Name your rate (e.g., "Romantic Escape").
Set your pricing and conditions.
Follow the same steps above to include add-ons in the rate.
Setting Up Cleaning Fees and Other Mandatory Charges
You can apply mandatory charges like cleaning fees or linen costs for your Booking Engine and Booking Channels.
For Your Booking Engine
Go to the Add-ons section via the room key icon.
Create a new add-on (e.g., “Cleaning Fee”).
Navigate to the Categories tab and select your rate.
Under Packages, choose:
Show total package price (includes add-on in nightly rate)
Show price excl. add-ons (shows add-on separately)
Tick the add-on you want to include.
Save your changes.
For Booking Channels (OTAs)
Add-ons must be created with the exact name used by the OTA (e.g., “Cleaning Fee”).
RoomRaccoon will automatically apply the charge if the OTA includes it in the reservation.
OTAs do not support package pricing, so add-ons are always shown separately.
Do not use the same rate types for both OTAs and your own Booking Engine, as this may cause data mismatches.
Summary Notes
Use add-ons to build flexible offers or manage operational costs.
Choose how they appear on invoices—itemised, grouped, or consolidated.
Mandatory fees must be configured per channel and named consistently.
RoomRaccoon helps ensure these charges are visible and correctly allocated.
