RaccoonHousekeeping: Room Reporting

Modified on Thu, 18 Sep at 12:46 PM

The Room Reporting feature in RaccoonHousekeeping helps housekeeping and maintenance teams report issues or updates directly from their mobile view. This ensures smooth communication with reception, reduces disputes through photo proof, and increases accuracy in guest billing.

Types of Reports

Housekeeping and maintenance staff can submit three types of reports:

  • Maintenance – Report issues in the room that need fixing.

  • Lost & Found – Log items left behind by guests.

  • Minibar – Record minibar usage for billing.

How to create a report

  1. Open the mobile view for housekeeping & maintenance staff.

  2. Select the room number from the overview.

  1. Tap on the applicable Report type.

  1. Fill in the required fields:

    • Title: A short summary (e.g. “Lost Watch”).

    • Description: Detailed information (e.g. what was found, where it was found, or details of the minibar usage).

    • Photo (optional): Tap Take a Photo to capture an item or issue.

  2. Tap Report to save the entry.

Viewing Reports

All submitted reports are automatically stored in the dedicated tabs of the RaccoonHousekeeping module.

  • Reports include:

    • Room number

    • Date of submission

    • Description of items

    • Photo (if attached)

This structured overview allows reception to quickly access and review all reports.

Reception Workflow

Reception staff can manage reports from the housekeeping module:

  • Viewing reports: Open the list, filter by date or room, and review details.

  • Adding charges: Minibar charges must be manually added to reservations. These are not automated.

  • Adding notes: Maintenance actions or lost items must also be manually noted in the reservation.

  • Photo verification: Photos serve as proof and reduce disputes.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive titles (e.g. “2 Drinks, 1 Snack”) to make reports easy to scan.

  • Always list items clearly in the description (e.g. “1x Beer, 1x Water, 1x Fanta”).

  • Attach photos whenever possible for accountability and transparency.

  • Reception should check reports daily to ensure minibar charges are added promptly.
