RaccoonHousekeeping has been upgraded to support grey rooms (also known as virtual rooms) - a much-requested feature especially useful for properties that host conferences, weddings, banquets, or other special events. Grey rooms can now be fully visible and manageable in the housekeeping dashboard.
This allows hoteliers to:
Include meeting spaces or event halls in their cleaning schedules.
Define cleaning times for non-traditional hotel rooms.
Increase visibility and operational control across all property spaces.
A conference hotel has a ballroom that hosts weddings on Saturday nights and needs a deep clean by Sunday morning for a corporate meeting. By enabling the ballroom as a “grey room” in RHK, it appears in the schedule alongside guest rooms, with a 90-minute cleaning time. On Sunday morning, the housekeeper assigned to that room gets it on her list just like any other.
How to Enable Grey Rooms for Housekeeping
To start managing a grey room in RaccoonHousekeeping, follow these steps:
Step 1: Navigate to Room Settings
Go to the “My Property” module from the left-hand navigation menu.
Select the “Rooms” tab.
Locate and click on the grey room (e.g., Conference Room) you want to enable.
Step 2: Enable Housekeeping Visibility
On the selected room’s settings page, scroll to the “Show in Housekeeping” option.
Tick the checkbox labeled “Show in Housekeeping.”
By default, this checkbox is unticked, meaning grey rooms will not appear in RaccoonHousekeeping unless you enable them manually.
Set category/room timings for grey rooms in RHK Settings → Room Categories.
Notes: Uses the same status set; typically Dirty is key for these spaces.
