In some cases, Booking.com Virtual Credit Cards (VCCs) are not successfully autocharged on their activation date. This can happen even when everything is correctly set up in RaccoonPay.
Why This Happens
Although Booking.com provides an activation date for each VCC, the actual funds on the card may not be available immediately on that date.
We have observed that Booking.com may delay the availability of funds by up to 5 days after the activation date.
When RaccoonPay attempts to autocharge the VCC on the activation date and the funds are still unavailable, the charge will fail due to insufficient balance.
What You Will See in the Payments module
The failed autocharge attempt will update the charge status in the Virtual Credit Card Dashboard to Pending.
You can view the reason for each failed attempt within its Payment Details page in your RaccoonPay Dashboard.
What You Should Do
If a VCC charge remains in Pending status:
Wait at least 1 day after the activation date before trying again.
Once funds are likely available, manually charge the VCC from within the reservation in RoomRaccoon.
Verify the payment success in your RaccoonPay Dashboard.
Tip: If you frequently experience delayed VCC balances, consider scheduling manual checks a few days after the activation date to avoid repeated failed autocharges.
