Whitelisting Email Addresses and Links for Booking.com Messaging

Modified on Wed, 13 Aug at 11:23 AM

Why This Is Needed

In May 2024, Booking.com introduced new security measures preventing automatic messages from containing links or mobile phone numbers. If you want to keep using links in your messages, they must be approved in your Booking.com security settings.

This means you need to whitelist:

  • The email addresses used by RoomRaccoon to send guest information.

  • All relevant links you use in your communications.

How to Whitelist in Booking.com

  1. Log in to the Booking.com extranet.

  2. Go to the Property dropdown menu.

  3. Click Messaging preferences.

  4. Open Security settings.

  5. Click Add email address and whitelist:

    • noreply@roomraccoon.com

  1. Click Add a link and whitelist any of the following:

    • Online check-in link (if included in pre-arrival documents)

    • Payment request link (if using RaccoonPay)

    • Booking Engine link

Which Links Should You Add?

  • Any custom links you’ve added to your documents.

  • Your Booking Engine link.

  • Your Online check-in link.

  • Your Payment request link.

How to Find Your Booking Engine Link

  1. In RoomRaccoon, open the Booking Engine module.

  2. Scroll down and click the Book button.

  3. Copy the URL shown.

  4. Remove the /EN/ part to whitelist it completely.

Example:
 https://booking.roomraccoon.com/albatros/en/ → whitelist as https://booking.roomraccoon.com/albatros/

How to Whitelist Your Online Check-in Link

Using your Booking Engine link, add /online-checkin/ to the end:

Example: https://booking.roomraccoon.com/albatros/en/online-checkin/

Paste this into the Messaging preferences in Booking.com.

How to Whitelist Your Online Payment Request Link

Using your Booking Engine link, add /online-payment/ to the end:

Example: https://booking.roomraccoon.com/albatros/en/online-payment/

Paste this into the Messaging preferences in Booking.com.

Important

In some cases, whitelisting links can make the email button unclickable.
 If this happens:

  • Remove all whitelisted links.

  • Keep only whitelisted email addresses.

  • Resend the document to check if the button works.
