The Channel Sync Toggle

Modified on Mon, 7 Oct at 11:38 AM

RoomRaccoon allows you to adjust your prices and restrictions in many different ways, including a bulk action using the pencil icons for up to one year at once. If you update your rates and restrictions more than five times, the individual update pop-up will appear.

Why does this happen?

Adjusting rates manually is time-consuming, and you will likely make errors, so our system suggests a quicker and simpler solution. You also order our system to constantly send new updates to your OTA's and Booking Engine with each manual update. This can overload our system and make your account slow until all the updates are synchronised.

To make manual rate and restriction changes without triggering the update pop-up, you can use the channel sync toggle to "pause" the channel manager and apply all your changes at once, without exceeding the individual rate update limit and triggering the individual update pop-up. In this context, by pause we mean that any changes you make, will be added together in a single update. This way, you will not overload the channel manager. However, this does not mean that your connected channels will stop sending Rates & Availability while the toggle is disabled, meaning reservations can still come in. It simply means any changes will only be updated once the toggle is switched back on.

Please note: the toggle will always automatically be activated. Meaning that rate updates will always be sent as expected (unless you manually disable the sync-toggle). You cannot leave the channel manager module without enabling the toggle again. This is because we always want to ensure that the latest rates in the channel manager have been updated.

How to use the Channel Sync Toggle?

Please follow these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the Channel Manager module

  2. Find the toggle in the top-right corner. Disable the toggle to turn off channel synchronisation.

  3. Make all the necessary changes in your rates as usual. To learn more about updating your rates, please refer to this article

  4. Once you are finished, reactivate the toggle.
