Taking Payments with the RaccoonCardMachine

You have three different ways of taking payments with the RaccoonCardMachine: from within the reservation, from the RaccoonPay Dashboard, and directly from the card machine. Each method has its own considerations and steps.

1 How to initiate a Payment from Within the Reservation

1. In the reservation, navigate to the bottom right of the screen. Open the Card Machine tab in the payments section.

2. Insert the amount you wish to charge and click on the green button CHARGE VIA CARD MACHINE.

3. The indicated amount will appear on the card machine. The guest can then proceed to pay using their desired payment method.

4. The payment will be reflected in the reservation and in the RaccoonPay Dashboard within a few moments.

2 How to initiate a Payment from the RaccoonPay Dashboard

1. Go to the Payments module and stay on the RaccoonPay tab.

2. On the left side of your screen, enter the amount you wish to charge in the Card machine payment section and click on the green button to initiate the charge.

3. The indicated amount will appear on the card machine. The guest can then proceed to pay using their desired payment method.

Note: Payments initiated from the RaccoonPay Dashboard are not linked to any reservation, thus they will only be displayed in the RaccoonPay Dashboard, and you cannot issue an invoice for these payments.

3 How to take a Payment directly from the RaccoonCardMachine (BETA - coming soon) 

1. Click on the blue Payment icon in your terminal screen

2. Insert the amount to charge

3. Have the guest pay with their card or a virtual wallet (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay)

4. Save the receipt for an easier reconciliation later

5. The payment will reflect in your RaccoonPay dashboard & All Payments tab within seconds
