Channel Manager FAQs

Should I update my rates in the Channel Manager or in My Property?

We recommend you to update your rates in the Channel Manager when you want to adjust the rate for a certain period. For example, seasonal pricing. However, if you want to change the base rate permanently, please do so in My Property

Changes made in My Property will automatically update in the Channel Manager AND trigger a rate update/sync with all external booking channels UNLESS a rate plan has already overwritten in the Channel Manager. (e.g. if you have already adjusted a rate first in the Channel Manager from €100 to €110 and then you also adjust the rate in my accommodation to €110, the overwritten rate in the Channel Manager will simply remain).

How do I know if a rate plan has been overwritten?

You can recognise whether a rate plan has been overwritten in the Channel Manager as it will show in black ink and be underlined instead of showing as greyed out.

How far in advance can I set my rates for?

Within RoomRaccoon, you have the flexibility to modify your rate plans for any future date you choose. Nonetheless, there is a limitation: updates can only be made for up to one year at a time. This constraint is in place because updating rate plans for an entire year places a significant load on our system. To manage updates beyond this period, simply shift the start date of your update to the beginning of the following year, allowing you to make adjustments for another entire year.

Important to note: RoomRaccoon only sends updates to these channels for dates up to a year in advance. This limitation is due to restrictions imposed by many booking channels, who do not accept updates for dates more than a year away. However, to ensure your availability is always up-to-date, RoomRaccoon automates this process for you. Every night, we send out your rates and availability for the date exactly one year from that day to all your connected booking channels. This automation continuously updates your availability, sparing you the manual effort and ensuring your slots are open for bookings.

What is the difference between the two pencil edit icons Pencil?

The bigger edit icon next to the drop down menu for the categories allows for a bulk update across all of your categories. Please note: you need to select "all categories" in order for this to be possible.

The smaller pencil edit icon next to each category allows for an update per category.

What does the link icon Link mean next to my rate plans?

If a rate plan has a link icon next to it this indicates that those specific rates are connected to external booking channels.
