How to Set-up Your Epson Printer (Italy)

Modified on Wed, 07 Jun 2023 at 09:31 AM

Step 1. Local Network Set-Up (Epson)

Please be aware that RoomRaccoon does not provide support for the local network set-up (Step 1). If you find you require support, you can contact the Epson Fiscal Printer department at fiscal_pos@epson.it

  1. Download the files listed below from here.

Istruzioni Certificati SSL.zip, which contains two PDFs, both describing the SSL certificates (Please note these are mainly in Italian)

Fiscal_printer.zip to load onto the printer via the cgi-bin/upload.cgi printer service.

Epson_Fiscal_Lab_CA_2038.zip, which contains a crt file to load onto your browsers, double-click it.

Files b and c provide support for three DNS names:

· printer1.epson.local

· printer2.epson.local

· printer3.epson.local

  1. Add the above DNS names to your PC’s host file or corporate DNS server if you have one. Of course, you can always create your own certificate names by referring to the attached document.

Please use the following sequence:

Printer:

a. SET 34 SSL = 1

b. SET 34 WEBAPP MEM TYPE = 0

c. SET 34 WEB APPLICAT.:OFF/ON = 1

  1. Restart the printer.

  2. To connect via HTTPS, choose to Proceed.

  3. Upload the fiscal_printer.zip via the upload.cgi service.

  4. Verify that the web app path is empty (https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/www/webapp). Since it is copied internally, there should not be a file called fiscal_printer.pem.

  5. Restart your printer once more.

  6. Add the printer's IP address in the host file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts) or configure your corporate DNS server if you use one.

  8. Use the https://printer1.epson.local URL, for example, and the certificate error should no longer appear.
