INE - WHAT IS IT?
INE is the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (National Institute of Statistics). Its integration automates the communication of statistical information from the hospitality sector.
This obligation does not apply to all tourist accommodations. However, if selected to participate in this monthly survey, businesses are legally required to respond. Failure to comply results in fines. It is the responsibility of clients to check with INE to confirm whether they are required to submit the survey.
INE - HOW DOES IT WORK IN ROOMRACCOON?
Fully automated – No manual action is required as long as all guest data is filled in and reservation statuses are updated with check-in and check-out (online versions will not affect INE).
The report is sent on the 3rd of each month.
After submission, INE will send a confirmation email.
If there is an error, no confirmation email will be sent, and errors will be reported after the submission deadline (15th of each month).
If you receive an error email, you should contact our support team via a ticket to check the situation.
INE - HOW TO CONNECT?
Self-service connection:
Our connection is self-service, meaning you must access the Marketplace module, where Portuguese market clients will always see the INE Portugal card in their active connections.
After clicking edit on the INE card, a new page will appear with fields to be filled in.
You can access this information from your INE account.
To help you find this information, on the left side, you will see the codes used by INE in previously completed surveys.
If your INE account is new and you have not yet submitted any surveys, contact INE for clarification.
IMPORTANT:
In the first field, "Código Unidade Inquirida" (Surveyed Unit Code), do not enter the company’s tax number (NIF).
To obtain the correct code, log in to your INE account and select the "Unidades Dependentes" (Dependent Units) option.
On this new page, you will find the unit code called "Identificador" (Identifier), which must be entered in the first option in INE settings in RoomRaccoon.
If the Dependent Units section is empty, you must first complete the INE configuration to obtain this information.
Saving your INE settings
After filling in your INE account details in each field:
Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page (the standard RoomRaccoon save button at the top does not work for INE).
Good to Know
If you need to connect multiple INE accounts to one RoomRaccoon account:
Choose the option "Multiple Properties" at the beginning and click "ADJUST ACCOUNT TYPE".
Enter the name of the first property and click the "+" button.
A list of your room categories will appear, allowing you to choose which ones should be reported for that account.
Once categories are selected, click "SAVE ROOMS" and fill in the fields for that account.
To add more properties, simply repeat these steps.
Possible Errors
If you receive an email from INE stating that the survey was not sent: Check if the details you entered are correct. If no errors are detected, contact the support team.
If you receive an email from INE stating that the survey was not accepted: Contact the support team. The most common issue is missing guest nationalities. INE does not accept surveys where more than 5% of the submitted guests have no nationality recorded. If this is the case, you must update the missing nationalities of guests from the previous month. You can obtain a list of guests, their reservations, and data in Reports > Reservations by Country, selecting the relevant dates at the top of the page.
