Why Is My Expedia Reservation Total Different in Expedia Than in RoomRaccoon?

Hoteliers often find that their Expedia reservation total differs in Expedia than in RoomRaccoon. This happens because when Expedia sends RoomRaccoon the Expedia collect reservation, they only send us the amount the hotelier receives, which is the total amount for the booking minus their 18% standard commission rate.  



This is why the total for the collect reservation in Expedia does not match the total for the collect reservation in RoomRaccoon. 


  


So what we do with all our Expedia collect reservations except for the South African and Icelandic markets is that we automatically add an 18% commission rate on the reservations (because it is the standard commission amount for Expedia) to balance it out. 


Please note: This only applies to all Expedia collect reservations with a Virtual Credit Card. 


What happens when you have a different commission rate with Expedia?


Suppose you have a different arrangement with Expedia and are paying a lesser commission amount of, e.g., 15%. You need to contact us through our ticketing system to let us know what your Expedia commission is so that we can add the correct commission amount to the reservation.
