Why Booking Confirmations Are Not Sent to Expedia

Expedia has two payment types, these are, Expedia Collect and Hotel Collect:



Expedia Collect


Expedia will take payment from the guest and generate a Virtual credit card for the hotelier to use, which will be sent to RoomRaccoon. The virtual credit card amount has just the amount that the hotelier gets after deducting the commission. 


When Expedia sends the information to RoomRaccoon it is not communicated what commission was taken and the amount that the hotelier received. Due to this, RoomRaccoon cannot automatically update the amount and booking confirmations will not be sent out as there will be fee disparities in the amounts.


Hotel Collect


Hotel Collect is when the hotelier gets the payment directly from the guest by using the guest's credit card details.
