Why Guest Are Not Able to Open the Online Check-in Link on Booking.com

As a security measure, Booking.com does not allow external links to be opened from their platform directly, therefore guests cannot open the online check-in link there.


However, Booking.com always sends the messages to the guests' personal email, so your guests must open the link from their personal email so it works correctly.

  • Suggestion: add a note at the bottom of your pre-stay document informing your OTA guests about this so you can be proactive and avoid them contacting you with questions or thinking they are not able to online check-in. For example, “If you have booked from a booking channel that is not our official website page, please open the link from your personal email as it does not work from external platforms.”
