The RaccoonPay card machine is fully integrated with the RoomRaccoon system, meaning it must always be connected to the system to function correctly. Below are the most common reasons your card machine may not display an amount and how to resolve the issue.
1. Sleep Mode
One of the most common reasons for disconnection is that the card machine enters sleep mode when not in use.
How to Reconnect from Sleep Mode:
Insert a card into the card machine to re-establish the connection.
Press the green button on the card machine to wake it up and reconnect.
2. Network Connection
To function properly, your card machine must be connected to the same network as your RoomRaccoon PMS.
Steps to Check and Connect Your Network:
Use the RaccoonPay card machine user guide to connect the device.
For wireless card machines:
Go to "Terminal Settings."
Scan for available networks.
Enter the Wi-Fi password.
For wired card machines:
Go to "Terminal Settings" and select "Ethernet Settings."
Deactivate DHCP activation.
Enter the IP address.
Click "Confirm."
3. Processing a Payment
The card machine must be properly connected to display the payment amount.
How to Process a Payment Correctly:
Create a payment in the reservation or RaccoonPay dashboard.
Click the "Confirm" button in the system.
The amount will then display on the card machine.
For contactless payments, tap the preferred card on the NFC reader (on top of the card machine).
For chip payments, insert the debit or credit card into the machine and enter the PIN if required.
Good to Know:
Always click the "Confirm" button after initiating a payment in the RoomRaccoon system to ensure the card machine displays the amount.
Contactless Pay will ONLY work if the card machine is online. To do this insert the card into the machine first or click on any key on the machine so that it establishes a connection first, then you may make a contactless pay transaction.
The card machine is designed to work seamlessly with RoomRaccoon, so all payments should be facilitated through your reservations or the RaccoonPay dashboard.
