The screenshot below shows two sections for adding your tracking code to track your guests' behaviour. If you are uncomfortable using this, please consult a marketing agency with adequate tracking and analytics expertise.

How to use the tracking code & the e-commerce code

If you want to follow where your bookers go when they visit your website, you can do so with Google Analytics, using it directly or through Google Tag Manager. The tracking code tracks the visitors on your website, and the e-commerce code tracks bookings, including the number of rooms booked, value & reservation number.

Important: This is available to users on tier 3 and higher, submit a ticket if you want to upgrade, and have this enabled.

  1. Click on the Booking Engine Module on the left of the screen and navigate to the BE Setup Tab.

  1. You will find the input section labelled "Google Analytics Account ID" in the middle right of the page.

  1. Insert your Google Analytics Account ID (Google Analytics 4) - code here.

After you complete this, we push the Purchase e-commerce event through, passing in the reservation number as the transaction_id, the total booking value with currency code, and the room types that the guests have booked as the items.

How to set up a return URL

The return URL is a website to which a guest is redirected after having completed a booking via the booking engine. Think, for example, of a thank you page. You will know the guest has booked directly when you arrive on this page. Do you have your booking engine in multiple languages? Ensure your guests are directed to the right page per language by filling in the URL at the language tabs.

  1. Click on the Booking Engine Module on the left of the screen and navigate to the BE Setup Tab.

  1. Find the field Return URL In the middle right of the page.

  1. Fill in the website URL to which the guest should be redirected after having completed a booking.
