How to Publish your Website

Modified on Thu, 16 May at 10:57 AM

You can publish your site at any time from the top toolbar of the Editor. Even after publishing, you can edit your site as much as you want. Whenever you make a change, simply publish again to make sure the changes go live.

How to Publish Your Site:

  1. Click Publish at the top right of the Editor.
  2. Click Host with RoomRaccoon.
  3. Wait for the website builder to generate your whitelabel domain.
  4. Click the Publish button in the bottom right corner.

Good to Know:

Clicking Save won't make your changes live. After saving, make sure to click Publish to show the updates on your live site.

Viewing your Live Site:

After your site has been published, it automatically appears online and can be seen by anyone entering your free Whitelabel site URL (your_id.cosmos-website.com) or your custom domain name, if you choose to connect your custom domain.

How to Connect a Custom Domain

In the Publish View, you will find everything you need to connect your own domain, including the target DNS record and subdomain information.

Setup Domain Provider Record

  1. Login to your registrar (the service provider where you purchased your domain)
Some examples of domain registrars are: GoDaddy, Hostinger, CloudFlare, Google Domains, etc.
  2. Access DNS Settings: Go to your domain provider and find the DNS settings for your custom domain.
  3. Create two new CNAME Records: Use the following details from the Publish View (pictured above) to create 2 new CNAME records:

The first record should be:

  • CNAME: www
  • Target: your_id.cosmos-website.com

The second record should be:

  • CNAME: @
  • Target: your_id.cosmos-website.com

  1. The result should look like this:

If you cannot create a CNAME record in your domain registrar:
Some Domain registrars do not support adding a CNAME record to top-level custom domains. If this is the case, we recommend creating a free Cloudflare account and following the steps below to transfer your domain management to Cloudflare:

  1. Click here to go to CloudFlare.
  2. On the top right, click Sign Up.
  3. On the Free card, click "Add a website".
  4. Insert an email & secure password.
  5. Click Sign Up.
  6. Select the Free Plan at the bottom.
  7. Click "Add a website" and insert your custom domain name and continue to allow Cloudflare to import your existing domain records.
  8. Cloudflare will then provide you with two custom Nameservers. To transfer your domain management to Cloudflare, you will need to adjust your registrar nameservers to reflect the Cloudflare nameservers.
  9. Click here to follow these steps to update your nameservers to Cloudflare.

After creating your CNAME records, complete Setup in the Website Builder Publishing View:

  1. Enter Domain Name: Enter your full domain name, excluding protocol (https://) or path (/).
  2. Verify and Save: Click on "Click to verify and save."
  3. Verification Failed? If verification fails, wait a few hours for DNS configuration (via Cloudflare or your registrar) to propagate through servers worldwide, then click "Reverify."

Good to Know:

Domain propagation can take between 12 and 24 hours to complete. If your website is still not live after 24 hours, please log a ticket with the RoomRaccoon Support Team. Always make sure to include the following information in your support ticket:

  1. Your username and password for your website builder account.
  2. The login URL, username and password for your domain registrar
  3. (If applicable) Your username and password for your Cloudflare account.
