There are instances where there is a difference between rates in RoomRaccoon and the booking channel. The price deviation ensures that there is consistency and that the correct amount is always communicated.
How do you get a price deviation
There are a few ways in which price deviations can occur such as promotions, discount codes, different tourist tax charges and add-ons being charged differently. Promotions are the most common way that price deviations are triggered.
An example of this is if RoomRaccoon has a guest rate for £40 in the channel manager and £40 with booking.com. A guest then books via booking.com and receives a 10% discount because of Booking.com’s genius program this means the guest will pay £36 per night. RoomRaccoon will display a price deviation of -4.00 so that the prices are aligned.
Another example of this is arrangements made of a price type linked to an external channel. If there is a price of £80 per night and £50 once-off cleaning costs linked to this rate, RoomRaccoon will enter this as a price deviation because this amount of £50 can not be placed. So if you work with mandatory add-ons, please let us know so that we can set this up together with you in the right way.
