How to Charge for an Extra Person in Your Roomraccoon Rates

Modified on Thu, 16 Feb, 2023 at 10:28 PM

To charge extra guests in RoomRaccoon all you have to do is setup derived rates for the given number of guests.

Derived rates are a modification on an existing rate (the base rate), for example similar to how breakfast included would cost an additional amount on top of a rate that does not include breakfast. This too is the case with extra guests.

How to setup derived rates

  1. Navigate to your Categories Tab by clicking on the My Property Tab (key icon) on the left of the screen.

  1. Select + New Room Rate from your chosen category.

  1. If you want to create a rate for 3 guests fill in your rate description and add the value or percentage of increase from the base rate. Be sure to select your base rate on the “derived from” section.

  1. Click Save once you have filled in all rate information.

  1. On your rates, the light grey one is the derived from the rate in bold showing that 2 Guest has an additional charge of ₤1000.00

  1. You can also create separate rates for your booking channels and derive non refundable rates from them.

Good to know

  • Since you can only add an amount onto an existing rate it’s good to keep in mind when creating your base rate for it to be the lowest rate you offer, for example 1 guest room only. Then you can derive rates from the base rate.
